Not only films, short films and documentaries in the program of the third edition of queering Rome, the Gay Lesbian Film Festival Bi Trans Queer in the capital, which takes place November 23 to 25.
In the spaces of the Casa del Cinema opens Friday, November 23 at 19.00 and can be visited free of charge until December 10, the exhibition "Gender Utopia", curated by Francesco Paolo Del Re The exhibition brings together the works of ten artists: Alessandra Baldoni Jacopo Benassi, Eleonora Calvelli, Fanny Coletta, Roberto Foddai, Aloha Oe, Claudia Pajewski, Angela Power, Mustafa Sabbagh and Paola Serino.
Through different uses of the photographic medium and with a marked preference for portraiture, the exhibition illustrates the dissolution and the utopia of gender and exceeding the assumptions of binary division of the world on the basis of anatomy, beyond the story of Adam and Eve.
The melange of views and suggestions offered by exposure invites the visitor to discover the wonderful unexplored continent of rewriting the self and desiring the deconstruction of gender as a territory of utopia possible.
Also in Italy a culture de-generally grows in the interstices of the dominant thinking their meeting places, its rituals, its opportunities for visibility and recognition and their codes of expression and aesthetic.
And "Gender Utopia" tries to map the routes veiled charm the lives of those who oversteps the codification of this kind, embracing the multiplicity of being thought of and more.
"A land - says the curator Francesco Paolo Del Re - by definition landslide and changing, which is perhaps impossible to root but it makes sense to blossom at will.
