The Centro Luigi Di Sarro, under the patronage of Co.Ri.S. - Department of Communication and Social Research of La Sapienza, is pleased to present the exhibition Fragments of a Lover's Discourse, edited by Magdalene Rinaldi.
The exhibition was presented May 24, 2013 from 15 hours with a round table organized in collaboration with the Chair of Semiotics of the Faculty of Communication Sciences, University La Sapienza (Prof. Isabella Pezzini) in which there were artists, students and teachers and will be inaugurated Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 18 at the Centro Luigi Di Sarro.
The exhibition, the result of a research project conducted by the curator and aims to create a dialogue through the contamination of different disciplines such as visual arts, literature, film, music and theater, will be attended by ten artists invited to read and interpret, through the peculiarities of each of aesthetic research, the work of the French semiotician Roland Bathes.
The exhibition will thus provides a visual reading of the literary work through pictorial forms (Alba Kia, Alessia Demarco), sculptures (Alessio Paolone, Elena Swallows, Yo Akao), photographs (Alessandra Baldoni, Serena Scionti), installations (Monticelli & Pagone, Sergio Baldassini) and video (Andrea Natale), acting as a translation between systems of different signs.
The artists will present almost all new works by interpreting some of the "figures" of the work (Wait, Catastrophe, Body, Addiction, Induction, Meetings, languor, Solo, remember ...), or the sense which underlies the entire work.
The works on show will decline in key melancholic, romantic, cynical and ironic but also the inner movements Sweetheart unrequited mentioned by Barthes proposes, in many cases, following the example of the author, quotes and drawings on the history and system of 'art.
The exhibition will trace the fragmented structure of the book and how the book will force the visitor to a cognitive involvement and passion that will push him to reflect, but also to decide to act pragmatically, during the visit.
The project - born in honor of Luigi Di Sarro, an artist who is dedicated to the exhibition venue, multi-faceted personality and eclectic and preacher of the convergence between knowledge spread in recent decades in the world - is in its first year, but will be developed in the coming years in a cycle of exhibitions in different locations.
