Dedicated to the glass, in different forms, the second edition of glass going - Biennale of Contemporary Glass , curated by Manuela De Leonardis , organized under the patronage of Sansepolcro Arezzo Province and Municipality of Sansepolcro 10 to 25 May 2014.
An event that confirms the success of the event in 2012 , the brainchild of the Cultural and tenacity in the glass going to recognize the value and quality of the glass - old material , fascinating and highly symbolic - in the contemporary art scene .
A renewed challenge for even the four well-known artists who have confirmed their presence in glass going 2014: Tommaso Cascella , Bruno Ceccobelli , Antonella Farsetti and Dominique Landucci . They will be joined by Alessandra Baldoni , Graziano Marini, Rita Miranda and Oliviero Rainaldi that contribute to expand the artistic horizons by establishing a personal dialogue with the matter that also sees the use of other techniques such as photography and raku pottery.
The experimental aspect of the meeting to each artist with the glass and the observation of its internal dynamics , which come to include the unexpected, represents an element of strength and novelty of the project. Fundamental prerogative of the Biennale of contemporary art glass is , in fact, that every artist realizes his work in fused glass working on site , in the office of Farsetti Factory Sansepolcro .
For this second edition of the festival , which like the first is characterized by a " pioneering freshness " , invited artists have interpreted the total freedom of the issues which have been relayed , which oscillate around the concept of nature and culture.
Glass going - Biennale of contemporary glass meanders through three historic homes of the Tuscan city . As in the previous edition of the historic Palazzo Inghirami houses the works of the artists, along with the video of Valter Lazzerini documenting the various stages of execution of works.
Praetorian Palace opens its doors to the work of the students of the workshop organized by the Cultural glass going during the biennium 2012-2014.
It is , then , a new children's involvement in the kindergarten of San Biagio Gricignano , stimulated to produce the works on display in the Museum of Stained Glass , inspired by "tales sewn " that pay tribute to the poetry of the famous artist Mary Lai .
Glass going - Biennale of Contemporary Glass is a lively event that involves the whole town of Sansepolcro, creating a bridge between the past and the present in which to reflect on the many facets of the glass is also an opportunity to stimulate aggregation and experimentation.
