On the occasion of Women's Day, the House of the Artist presents PRIVATE, a traveling group show against gender violence and femicide: guest at Spazio Alda Merino until March 22, open from Thursday to Monday.
Will be the words, objects, memories, strong and sharp Alda Merino to host the works of this new stage of contemporary art exhibition PRIVATE: there could be no better words, on this day dedicated to the woman to accompany the works capable of reflect an equally strong and sharp on femicide, gender violence and the complexity of the feelings.
PRIVATE is an exhibition, born March 8 from the Mole Vanvitelliana of Ancona, has migrated in several regions in Italy, playing on the multiple meanings of words, on
paradoxes and on the many facets that takes the phenomenon in society. A woman who suffers violence is deprived of dignity and freedom, as well as a woman who is killed is deprived of his life. The home stifle the problem and not enough street demonstrations to emphasize the idea that "violence against women is not a private matter", does not belong only to the individual sphere, intimate empersonale of the sufferer, but concerns all civil society .
Address the issue with different perspectives overturning the original approach is the sense of the project PRIVATE that, by inquiring about gender violence and the
femicide, puts the audience in front of installations, videos and photographs createmespressamente for this exhibition. In this new stage will be seven women
protagonists: Federica Amichetti, Attinia, Alessandra Baldoni, Ilaria Margutti, Rita Soccio, journalists Nikla Cingolani and Tamara Ferrari to show us and make us think
As yet there is much to do. Next to them, the vision and the testimony of the photojournalist Marco Garofalo with his Superladies, a report from Uganda where
tells how a sport like wrestling male has instead returned a reason to live and to reintegrate into society in several ex-prostitutes, single mothers and women
who have suffered violence.
