There are many legends of the past that have come to this day. One of them has Modigliana's protagonist, more precisely the Piazza Don Minzoni. It is in this place that in 1773 there was a personal exchange between the future king of France Luigi Filippo, still a child, and the girl Maria Stella Chiappini. And it is in this ancient "barter" that is inspired by the day of Sunday, April 30, organized by the Cultural Association Ics Fectori Art.
To inaugurate the initiative, on Friday 28 and Saturday, 29 April at 10 pm at the Teatro Sozofili, a theatrical representation entitled "Il Baratto" will be held, which will prepare the theme and history of this ancient custom to be dedicated to Sunday's day .
In the morning, from 9 o'clock, at the square and the covered market there will be a series of stands with forgotten objects and curiosities and found in attics and wineries and will thus be able to return to live in a new home. At 10.30, the guided tour of the beauties and history of Modigliana will take place. The morning will end with the Baratto lunch, during which culinary specialties will be served in the 1700s.
Afternoon activities will begin at 3 pm with the singer Ciapa Cialdini who will tell in music "Il Baratto". Following the performance of the music school students Alfeo Gigli, the intervention of the journalist Luigi Rivola, who will tell some anecdotes about barter and reading poetry in dialect. The smaller ones will also be invited to take part in a space where you can experience the drawing on the 1700 paper.
An exhibition at the Sala Piero Alpi of the former Church of San Rocco was also held on the occasion of the day. Here will be stories of books, posters and publications, witnesses to the ancient tradition of barter.
