COMEL AWARD Contemporary Art 2018 - The 13 selected artists

The 13 finalists of the Seventh edition of the COMEL Award have been selected. So the preparations for the exhibition "Harmonies in Aluminum" is underway. The event will be held in Latina in October.

The seventh edition of the COMEL Prize is getting into action: the call was closed on June 25; the jury of experts has reviewed the works presented by hundreds of artists from all over the European continent and has finally chosen the 13 finalists.
The jurors say they are very satisfied with the artistic level reached in this edition, and the organizers emphasize the warm welcome that the COMEL Award has received among foreign artists: ten countries will be represented this year in the competition.
The artists who enter the final phase of the seventh edition are: Yinon Avior (Israel - Denmark, Copenhagen), sculpture; Maryam Beniasad (Iran - Italy, Milan), sculpture; Marco Cavalieri (Italy, Rome), sculpture; Laura De Lorenzo (Italy, Rome), sculpture; Lino Di Vinci (Italy, Genoa), painting; Sergey Filatov (Russia, Moscow), sculpture; Monika Kosior (Poland - Italy, Rome), sculpture; Marsel Aion Lesko (Albania - Italy, Rome), sculpture; Gisella Meo (Italy, Rome), sculpture; Carmelo Minardi (Italy, Catania), sculpture; Boryana Petkova (Bulgaria - France, Paris), painting; Simon Van Parys (Belgium, City Of Ghent), painting; Federica Zianni (Italy, Milan), sculpture.

The selected works will be exhibited at Spazio COMEL Arte Contemporanea, in Latina (Italy), in the exhibition "Harmonies in Aluminum", which will take place from the 6th to the 27th October. The awarding of the winner of the COMEL Award 2018 and the proclamation of the winner of the Audience Award will be held on Saturday 20 October.
The jury that selected the finalists is chaired by prof. Giorgio Agnisola, art critic and writer, professor of Sacred Art at the Pontifical Theological Faculty of Southern Italy. This year he will be joined by the jurors Andrea Baffoni, historian and art critic, curator of exhibitions in Italy and abroad, essayist and journalist; Lorenzo Canova, art historian, curator, art critic and associate professor of History of Contemporary Art at the Department of Humanities, Social Sciences and Education of the University of Molise; Ada Patrizia Fiorillo, historian and art critic, journalist and associate professor of History of Contemporary Art at the University of Ferrara. A regular member of the jury is the entrepreneur and manager Maria Gabriella Mazzola, owner of her family company, CO.ME.L., promoter and supporter of the COMEL Award.
