Some Velvet Drawings
Prize calls, Italy, Verona, 28 June 2015
Project for drawing on paper and participation, curated by Eva Comuzzi in partnership with Andrea Bruciati.

Second step of the project for research, divulgation and participation in relation to artistic techniques, based on an idea by Andrea Bruciati, which, after investigating painting in 2014 with Lorenza Boisi in 2000Maniacs – The Big Painting Show, is, this year, going to entrust Eva Comuzzi with a focus on drawing.

As in 2014, the starting point for the pseudo-performance project will be 10 works by artists proposed by the galleries at the fair and on show from the very first day, which, over the days that follow, will begin to communicate, in the role of defenders, with a growing body of works by artists selected by the curator via a contest.

The founding idea is the construction of an exhibition of drawings which, according to a predetermined operational principle, can gradually incorporate works by many different artists, growing like a curatorial tree of installations.

This is an innovative project which offers an opportunity for communication between artists and between artists and curators; a reading of the phenomenology of drawing and of the principles of its display and layout, also in relation to users; a moment of comparison with the current dynamics of the use of art.
