Rome Capital City Department of Cultural Affairs and Historical Center, the Libraries of Rome, present the staff of Antonello Morsillo:
Stripped of flesh, the title of this show pays tribute to philosophers, writers, scientists, activists, free thinkers in their bodies dismembered as many men as they wanted to obliterate the traces! And 'as if their bodies were stripped of those dresses that have them connotations because the emblem of a threat, without the robes of silence and indifference as they become worn-out clothes to be divested.
Over the centuries there has been real massacres: by Hypatia literally torn to pieces from side to side by a mob of Christians, represented here as a pregnant mother of science, Pier Paolo Pasolini, massacred by a "boy of life" in competition with unknown prospectively painted with open arms to simulate a flight from his "crucifixion". From Giordano Bruno, who is in the canvas without the mouth, but with coves that seem to give him the verb, to Sophie Scholl depicted with a white rose in his mouth bristling with barbed wire! Not to mention, among others, Federico Garcia Lorca, Benazir Bhutto, Matthew Shepard, Don Pino Puglisi, Gandhi.
Their ultimate sacrifice takes years apart from the wider symbolic connotations and allows deep reflection.

Antonello Morsillo was born in Foggia and then immersed in the illustration as a boy realizing the designs of cartoon characters. In Rome, he graduated in graphic design, drawing and painting. His works defined sur-realistic because the base blend to classical figurative surreal scenarios that deconstruct, born from the drawing freehand and completed on the canvas with pigments and acrylics.
The particular slots, inspired by the "spots" of Rorschach, small patches that stand out from the represented and the "drill" deep sealed the artistic identity. His every canvas is characterized by the presence-absence of the sense organs. His urgency is to observe the mutation of the body to snatch the interiority. The first example is the Roman staff, 2006, Imagined, where the singer becomes Rector of zoomorphic creatures in heaven, earth and sea. The artist will choose Venetian works such as Wolves and bestial Note for the covers of his records. The show gave him, in 2008, an award from SonyBmg, to date, only one in Italy in the field to record an illustrator: Gallery dazed video-catalog, to the tune of the song dazed, made with the works of the same.
The four-year experience with the SonyBmg, enabling it to establish itself as an illustrator creating covers for artists including Milva, Patty Pravo and Luigi Tenco. The exhibition that follows, Cinemorfismi masks of madness on the big screen, the investigation in the obsessions and fears of crazy characters of the film, for three years and ten exposures along the peninsula. In 2009 he took part in a group exhibition in New York. In 2011 the artistic turning point: the illustration to painting freehand combined with meat personal undressed the martyrs of thought.
In 2012, celebrating the first ten years of artistic activity with the personal anthology disfigured from the mouse to the brush.
His last achievement, Assisi, is a finalist for the Prix painting Sacred Visions 2013.

The last day of the show, Saturday 18 at 10.30, will be dedicated to Don Pino Puglisi, on the occasion of his beatification, with the screening of the film in the light of the sun by Roberto Faenza.
