Shoah i risvolti del pregiudizio
Exhibitions, Italy, Torino, 18 January 2016
The new art project by Antonello Morsillo reach the fourth exhibition in the exhibition rooms of the Villa Amoretti Library of Turin. Shoah implications of the injury is the title of our Puglia that the painter used to pay homage to the victims of the concentration camps. Seventy years after the liberation of the Nazi camps Etty Hillesum, Gertrud Kolmar, Edith Stein, Maximilian Kolbe, Anne Frank, Happy Schragenheim and other great figures in the paintings they are recalled, next to ordinary people, unknown, evoked in the painting on the poster. Through the tears of the Jewish people, they unravel all the other figures boxed in green triangles, pink, reds, blues, blacks, browns, purple represented here in the form of a make-up smudged, an artifice as their classification. Each of them has a face, a sign of how man can get into the deepest abyss to create the greatest catastrophe that the '900 can and should remember. The intent is to allow, to know and remember, through art, the people killed by an absurd "final solution".
The painter is called Puglia "suridealista" because his works express social fervor represented in dreamlike scenarios. The symbolic passages inspired by the "patches" of Rorschach, stand out from the image represented, the "drill" deep and seal his artistic identity. Its urgency is claiming through art, important social issues because he believes that art can and should make known some significant realities.
After the experience with the SonyBmg for which he had important publications for CD covers, books and magazines on Mina, Milva, Patty Pravo, Rector, Luigi Tenco and Renato Zero. arrives in 2010 to painting. Cinemorfismi, stripped of flesh, Shoah are just some of the projects to which he dedicated the artist who has also periodically through conferences to raise awareness of the characters represented. On the occasion of the fortieth anniversary of the death of Pier Paolo Pasolini, the artist held a series of meetings developed through interaction with the canvas on Pasolini to touch on some aspects of this great figure of the twentieth century Italian. He believes that his artistic creations can merge their communications to a cultural worker. A role he held for years in the Capital.
