and a path of self-analysis within the history and experiences of the author.
Having been in the seventies and nineties, one of the main protagonists of the Italian photojournalism ,
since 2000 Norma Picciotto has bravely decided to renew radically her language of photography and the
images that make up this exhibition shown themselves as apparitions, as a poetic exercise that freely combine , almost floating, meetings and memories, dreams and dreamlike visions.
Each image which was created with different photos, juxtaposed and superimposed, puts into play a duality, a layered co-existence of reality and different times which are confronted to create a new visual world, suspended between past and present. A world at times dreamy and evocative, but sometimes painful .
To suggest an openness to a dimension of dreams and poetry is always a bubble that, like a magic magnifying glass, frames her portraits, or makes it appear special places and significant elements of Jewish history, such as the Israeli desert or a Jerusalem evoked only by some details.
The exhibition made coherent by a style and an unit poetry, proposed two research, united by the common thread of memory: by one part is offered as a path that the author lived thanks to the retrieval of her portray images as a child until adulthood, by the other is a kind of inspired and lyrical homage to the Jewish culture and Israel, land of her roots.
