The installation THROUGH THE QUIET AXIS, ALL THE ROADS ARE CIRCULAR refers to a long, cosmic and contemplative sound piece composed by Atkinson two years ago. It is also a tribute to American painter Lowry Burgess, a living “space artist” who wanted to create a “quiet axis”. Félicia Atkinson offers an installation in several elements – watercolours, large canvases, sculptures, a book – made up of various materials: wood, clay, paper, silk, archival images…. With this installation, the artist deals with themes such as the issue of the loop, the metamorphosis of a drawing into a sculpture, the wavelength, abstraction, the transfer from the studio to the exhibition space, the jingle, luck, imagination, improvisation as an object, the plan, the threshold.
