One artwork for one year of life of The New Florence Biennale: LINEA Spazio Arte Contemporanea (via delle Porte Nuove, 10 - Florence) celebrates the first birthday with an exhibition totally dedicated to one of the founders, the President of Florence Biennale Pasquale Celona.

The exhibit title, cured by Artistic Director of The New Florence Biennale Prof. Rolando Bellini and by Lilia Lamas, curator of Spazio LINEA, evokes a line of poetry by Nobel Prize for Literature Rabindranath Tagore: “IL MIO CANTO HA ABBANDONATO OGNI ARTIFICIO” (“My singing left any artifice”). Vernissage on Saturday October 5th at 18. The show will be open till November 3rd (time 10-18, free entrance).

Eighteen canvas, from the less recent ones to the latest creations, including the artwork realized for “AFTER BIKE”, collective show set at Società Canottieri di Firenze, concurrently UCI Road World Championship (Lungarno Anna Maria Luisa de’ Medici n.8, September 23th -29th 2013). Among the works on display there will be also the one exposed at 54th Biennale di Venezia, in the pavilion “Italia”, cured by Vittorio Sgarbi.

But this is not only a retrospective: Pasquale Celona is also the artist chosen by Artistic Directori Rolando Bellini to play The New Florence Biennale’s “mantra”. Starting from next edition (Fortezza da Basso, November 30th -December 8th) Florence Biennale will suggest the formula for a propitiatory mantra to be performed by an artist whose personality and work fully interpret the message proposed. For edition 2013 it will be Paul Klee statement: “In my veins runs the blood of a better time”. A preview of the mantra preparatory work will be presented on occasion of the solo show.
