The new Artistic Director of The New Florence Biennale, Prof. Rolando Bellini will introduce the catalog of the exhibition, cured by Lilia Lamas.

The show is made by nineteen works, realized turning “pieces of nature” in “inspiring objects”, able to call forth images and feelings. Objects “that bear witness, in short, to the poetic quest of a painter that renounces the geometry and enters the emotional sphere” as the curator says in the catalog.

“The human being has two hemispheres: the rational, which is dictated by reason and the emotional, which affects choices - states Lilia Lamas - ; the artist with his paintings represents this duality”. As dual (or triple) identity of the author himself, divided between three different places, Florence, Prato and the Island of Elba, each of which sneaks in Marella’s artistic choices. Translating reality into imagination, as Rolando Bellini says.
