"Inside the matter," the works of Federica Gionfrida

BIOGRAPHY
I was born and raised in Rome il08/08/1977. I studied at the Art School and then I continued my degree in architecture at the University La Sapienza.
I live between Art and Architecture has always been and that is why I felt the need to express myself on the canvas staring at my ideas and my feelings.
Intrigued by all with regard to primary and secondary building materials. Currently, my works emerge from solid-color and well-defined meanings:
the red represents the Fetal Position, the Blue is The Couple, Chaos Theory is The World.

TECHNIQUE
My technique is matter and is constantly evolving: use sun-dried enamel, acrylic, different types of mortar and stucco, and finally sand. The relief is the result of their superposition: layers of highly structured and rich in color. Much of my work is pure inspiration: the desire to experiment leads me to the frantic search for new processes and alternative elements or commonly used in construction to be used in an unusual way, sublimating their material nature into pure emotion.

PHILOSOPHY
The painting is spiritual. I like many artistic things, but I feel happier when I'm painting in my studio. There is a feeling of meditation and recollection that I receive from the painting. I feel my soul enriching experiences and feelings are always different and bullies every time I pick up a spatula and I shape the canvas.
The reason why I love so much color in my art, is that the color is able to project my strong feelings about who is also a mere spectator: the blue is calming and conducive to meditation, the energy and passion has red, yellow evokes warmth and happiness
