The cultural association Stilelibero in collaboration with the nonprofit Macromicro inaugurated on Saturday, December 13 at 16:00 at the National Museum of Prehistory and Ethnography in Rome Pigorini Louis, a new step in the Memorandum, the capital, is presented to the public with the scientific and photographic project by Fabiano Ventura entitled on the Trails of the Glaciers.

Fabiano Ventura, photographer and mountaineer, has documented the effects of climate change in Alaska, the Caucasus and the Karakorum in the last hundred years. Starting from historical shots of the first photographers explorers such as Vittorio Sella, Massimo Terzano, Ardito Desio, Von Mor Dechy and Wlliam Osgood Field, Ventura has taken over the glacier after glacier the exact same shots. The result is a comparison of historical and contemporary that amazes, and the beauty of the images, both for what they reveal: a profound change in the world.

The festival is conceived by Stilelibero with the collaboration of Macromicro and with the support of the United States of America, the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Biella, the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Torino, Regione Piemonte, City of Biella and with the help of the UP Mobile, Birra Menabrea and Enel Green Power.

The exhibition will be enriched by interactive video installation artist Paul Scoppola, entitled On the way in time. The public, through simple gestures, you can interact with the images: enlarge details or superimpose images modern and historic monuments to observe the changes of the glaciers occurred over time. It is a work of art designed for the educational project On the Trails of the Glaciers.

During the period of the exhibition are also planned in-depth meetings with the author in which the documentaries will be screened shipments.

Following the screenings there will be a conference with the directors Sbrolla Massimiliano Marco Preti, Thomas Valente, researchers Claudio Smiraglia, Richard Scott, the creator of the project Fabiano Ventura, producer Robert Dall'Angelo and journalists Luigi Bignami and Matteo Marini as moderators.

This fourth edition of the Memorandum - Historical Photography Festival is characterized as a real photo tour: from Biella game in the month of March before moving to Turin, now comes to Rome. The show is presented in different capacities depending on the host city exposing around 14 exhibitions and making a series of events related to them. Revealed and made accessible, in some cases for the first time, images of strong emotional impact or explicit connotation documentary focusing on episodes of the collective memory in order to involve the general public and not just the experts.
Multiple themes, places the characters and the historical periods covered, giving the festival an identity varied and diverse, which is his true wealth. Memorandum is in fact not weighed as an event of celebration authorial but as an ambassador of the multitude of realities that characterize the landscape and photographic archives.
