The most daring photography workshop ever conceived is back to push the boundaries of
what is acceptable to look at. Erotic Eye III will take place in Los Angeles, 3/28/17 - 4/7/17.
The class is limited to eight non-professionals and applications are now open, being accepted
through February 10, 2017.
The Erotic Eye Workshop was created by Donna Ferrato and Tomeu Coll in 2015. It is a guided tour through the world of eroticism, symbols and fantasies. At its heart is the belief that we are born to love and be loved, and that, in the words of the late great Czech photographer Miroslav Tichy, “All of society is based on sexuality.” Photographers will not only build portfolios, but wil learn about themselves and will become more attuned to visualizing with their erotic eye. After
the culmination of the workshops there will be a book and a documentary film made from the participants’ best work.
The beginning of Erotic Eye III will take place in West Hollywood. Photographers will have
shooting assignments to fulfill. The second half will take place in the desert where the emphasis will be on editing. Throughout there will be short daily editing sessions and nightly films about photographer’s lives. Unlike other workshops, the whole group lives together in incredible homes.
Expect to live, eat, breathe photography twenty-four hours a day.
Out of profound respect for the legends of photography who shaped our visual history, we roleplay.
Each participant becomes the embodiment of a dead photographer, with the hope that they will learn how to see with an iconic point of view.
Our subjects are not paid models. Courageous people willing to share their lives come to us.
We are proud to announce the guest leader for this final workshop, Mark Peterson. His recentlypublished book “Political Theatre” is the most fearless, hard-hitting collection of imagery made in America. Mark is an extraordinary story-teller whose photographs don’t need words. We hope he will share some of his secrets as a documentary photographer and know he will be a great asset to
the team.
Being a turned-on photographer is hard work. Participants understand they will be pushed
farther than they’ve ever been pushed before by the leaders of this workshop. Erotic Eye L.A. will focus on the essence and power of female sexuality.
