"Ephemeral beauties and fleeting forms", Ilaria Caputo's solo exhibition
Exhibitions, Italy, Palermo, 28 September 2014
Sunday, September 28th at 18:30, at the conference hall of the "E. Vittorietti” Library (complex of Palazzo Steri, Piazza Marina, Palermo) the exhibition "Ephemeral beauties and fleeting forms" will open.

This solo show brings together 26 works by Ilaria Caputo, whose constant peculiarity lies in a continuous attempt to unite tradition with innovation. In fact, her creations are equally classically inspired and structurally hybrid, as a result of the combination of different materials and media. Sometimes, for example, the monochrome terracotta is shaped, distorted and enriched with the addition of oil painting and/or drawing. This results in a production in which is difficult to refer to each individual work using traditional terms such as “painting” or “sculpture”. Along with these “paint-sculptures”, more traditional oil paintings on wood are also on display.

By describing a flower’s evanescent beauty or capturing a moment of an ever-changing story, these works focus on two themes particularly dear to this Artist, namely Classical Archetypes, that are re-interpreted through the Myth; and Nature, which is either described through landscapes or vividly sketched through a few outstanding features. All these artworks show a great attention to details as well as clean shapes, which are characteristic of Ilaria Caputo’s style.

The exhibition will run until Sunday, November 2nd, 2014

Hours: Wednesday to Sunday from 10.00 to 13.00 and from 16.00 to 19.00
