Marion Schmidtke was born in 1961 in Hoxter, Germany. She studied art and music at the University of Duisburg from 1983 to 1989. During these artistic studies has enjoyed special support of Prof. Hans Brog which whom in 1992 she holds painting classes and drawing for adults.
In the years between 1993 and 2014 she worked as an artist and music teacher.
During these years she has participated in a series of exhibitions at "Universität Duisburg", in Reinbek castle near Hamburg, in the Borbeck Castle in Essen, Hamburg "Akademie für Kunst und Gestaltung" Show "Meereswelten" in Seamuseum "Multimar Wattforum" Tönning, "Ozean - Meereswelten und Nordlandschaften" in Bad Oldesloe, Beautiful Woman Haus, formerly in Berlin "InArteWerkkunst Gallery".
In 2014 Marion Schmidtke and her husband have moved to the island of Fehmarn / Baltic Sea. Here she continued to paint large three-dimensional pictures with her favorite acrylic technique. Some of them are "diptychons". These are often instantaneous moments captured in northern landscapes. Through her works, Marion throws out her desire for beauty, calmness and clarity. Everything in her images is represented in a subtle way. As well as the brief appearances of animals, shows the reflection of water or loneliness of solitary painted dunes. Her images have discrete color and expression, and they stop and compare the different approaches between nature and civilization.
