Ulla Karttunen at Art Below Summer Show
Exhibitions, United Kingdom, London, 26 June 2018
Ulla Karttunen, a Finland-based digital artist, was selected to participate the The ART BELOW Summer Show.

Art Below takes art to underground billboards but has exhibited also at institutions like Saatchi Gallery or Victoria&Albert Museum. Even such big names as Banksy, Damien Hirst or Anish Kapoor have earlier participated in Art Below projects.

The artists selected to this summer show are interpreting the theme given by the curator Ben Moore, ’the digital age’. The artworks are shown both at Herrick Gallery (June 26 - July 1, 2018) and Hyde Park Corner tube station (June 18 - July 1, 2018).

At Art Below Summer Show, Karttunen presents an ironic interpretation of ’the age of me, my selfie and I’, a depiction of the rise of neo-narcissism , where being connected is as obsessional as illusory, or where self-boosting and egomania tend to petrify persons into images, into the living dead.
