On the morning of 11 September 2017, the Sala degli Affreschi of the Ateneo Aldo Moro Palace in Bari hosted a conference organized by the association "Ex Studenti Accademia Belle Arti of Bari" in synergy with the same Academy. An appointment in which many prominent personalities of the artistic world took part, such as the well-known artist Tarshito, as well as fans of the visual arts. The artist Del Piano, unable to attend the event, made his warm presence felt through a letter. The conference inaugurated a temporary exhibition set up in the Sala degli Affreschi which will be open to the public until September 22nd. The art critic Dott.ssa Mirella Casamassima, who also recalled how important art is in a globalized world, was briefly describing the works on display, including those in the collection by the illustrious artist Paolo Lunanova. in which technology predominates. Following the speech by Prof. Raffaele Valletta who explained the importance of art within today's mass communications. The conference was also attended by the President of the Regional Commission Pari Opportunità Patrizia Del Giudice who expressed his praise for these initiatives to support culture. While the speakers were presenting their speeches, on a big screen the images of the first Historical Catalog Memo were shown, drawn up on the exhibition held last year. After the illustration of the exhibition and the online magazine "Imprinting" we moved on to the presentation of the "Premio Tesi Arte 2017". The competition that is the first edition, is the result of an initiative promoted by the association "Ex Studenti Accademia Belle Arti of Bari" and develops with the intention of rewarding students who have completed a thesis particularly interesting on topics of art visual and history of gender art. A commission chaired by the graphic and engraving instructor of the Lecce Academy Prof.ssa Grazia Tagliente, decreed the three winners who have won over a cash prize, a case donated by the Carenza family as official sponsor of the event. The first place was the thesis of Maria Grazia De Giorgi, in second place the one of Miryam Trevisani and the third Federica Claudia Soldani.The daughter of Pasquale Carenza, a historic merchant from Bari who passed away last year, was given a plaque as a sign of gratitude. All those present on September 19th were invited to the Sala degli Affreschi: an exhibition in the exhibition that aims to imprison viewers in a surreal atmosphere. "Beauty will save the world", this is the greeting message launched during the conference that recalls the famous phrase of Oscar Wilde "What the art tries to destroy is the monotony of the type, the slavery of fashion, the tyranny of habits, and the lowering of man at the level of the machine ".
