CALL FOR PARTECIPATION
Art. 1 – AIMS
Elea Prize is a competition which aims to promote contemporary art and artists, enhancing the relationship between new concepts and artistic research. The judging panel will select 50 works divided into three main categories: Painting / Drawing (20 works), Photography / Video (20 works) and Sculpture / Installation (10 works).
The competition involves two exhibitions, in Rome and Berlin, the publication of a catalogue, the allocation of prize money for a total amount of € 7,000.00 and three artist residencies.
Art. 2 – PARTICIPATION
Elea Prize is open to all artists, Italian and International. Whether you are a professional practitioner or an emerging artist, a student or a self-taught artist, we welcome entries from all age ranges and experience levels.
PAINTING / DRAWING
(Painting, Drawing, Watercolor, Print, Engraving)
There are no limitations on the methods/techniques used. The size of the works submitted should not exceed 150x200cm.
PHOTOGRAPHY / VIDEO
(Digital Photography, Analog Photography, Digital Graphics, Media Live, Video, Net Art, Animation, Sound Design)
There are no limitations on the methods/techniques used. The size of the works submitted should not exceed 150x200cm.
INSTALLATION / SCULPTURE
(Installation, Performance, Sculpture)
For installations, sculptures and performances there are no limitations in terms of materials and techniques. The artworks can range from the organic to the inorganic, works with an interactive component and/or electrical connection, mechanization, light, sound or video are welcome. The size of the works submitted should not exceed 250X250x300 cm. For Performances any form of expression and material are accepted.
Technical specifications for images:
Images should be submitted in either JPG or PNG format, minimum length of 900 pixels for the longest side, as they may be featured in the catalogue.
Technical specifications for videos, animation, performance.
To submit a video, the file must be uploaded on Vimeo or YouTube, by creating your own free account.
The link generated should then be included in the registration form.
You will also need to upload a still image extracted from the video as it may be featured in the Elea Prize catalogue.
Art. 3 – TERMS AND METHODS OF PARTICIPATION
Application deadline is 30 May 2015, 20:00 Italian time. Should extensions be allowed, participants will be notified within that date. You can only apply online at http://www.premioelea.it
