Exhibitions, Italy, Livorno, 10 November 2017
Licked lips express pleasure in body language. A pleasure that takes infinite power when the lips disconnected accompany the eyes closed, transmitting the breath of the dream of something that you really want to be able to accomplish, despite any obstacles or difficulties. Nomen-omen: The eternal definition of Livorno suggests the hosting mission that this city brings to its channels, its neighborhoods, its squares and streets. Lab (b) roni (ri) is a project designed to help strengthen the role of the Old Fortress in the current process of integration between the port and the city.
The initiative is to be an event that explodes the artistic dream of the status of those who cross the seas of the Mediterranean: navigators and / or migrants; All that, in that far off the mainland, close their eyes to dream of an unrealistic port, perhaps rarefied, certainly happy. An imaginary theme made of the future and the desire to be, positive in your passion.
Italian and non-Italian artists will be the interpreters of the contemporary art exhibition to be installed at the closed structure of the Punching Room of the Grains. A sensational exhibition that wants to find its own interpretation path and an artistic key to curiosity with our journey in the time that was and will come.
We want to install the exhibition in the Old Fortress: designed, imagined and constructed architecture for the defense of a place; Fortified structure located in a geography where sea and land meet; A symbol of encounter / confrontation to claim, perpetuate, even impose its own territorial identity, the love of those who live it and live it by feeling it with all five senses. A different concept in an attempt to represent a future in various artistic disciplines: from painting to photography, from performance to video installation.
The desire to aim at enhancing the integration of the city of Livorno moves from the conviction that public and private structures can be imagined as open doors on the road, real spaces that live in the participation and contribution of all, and with artists predominantly, Which contaminate and characterize, through their experiential and theoretical reach, the territories in which they act to capitalize and reinvest the inexhaustible resources of which we are all depositors in order to ensure a sustainable quality of life.
The artists involved will reinterpret and remodel the Old Fortress site with site specific interventions.
