The exhibition 100X100 Artist's Books, promoted by SINCRESIS -D'A Spazio d'Arte, is previewed on the occasion of BAMMM !, an event dedicated to the art book organized by the Di Center of Florence in collaboration with the Museum Marino Marini of Florence. The exhibition, which will open on 12 March 2022 in Empoli, brings together books-works by artists from all over Italy and also from abroad, from Spain to Belgium, from France to England. There are especially numerous women who have joined the proposal. One hundred books for one hundred artists is a project that intends to promote and enhance the artist's book as a precious creation that stands out as an expression of an individual poetics and as a work that integrates a multiplicity of aspects such as to characterize the work of an artist in its presentation to the general public. The artist's book is a work within everyone's reach, which provides for widespread knowledge among the public at large. Artist books with diversified and singular characteristics appear on display that make them unique as an artistic work proposed in different types and materials, from manual processing as a unicum to limited edition or digital printed books. The project was born, therefore, from the need to make contemporary artistic experiences known and valued, allowing dialogue, exchange and reflection on artistic creation as a mixture of the generative, aesthetic and functional aspects of making art, from the conception execution. The artist's books can all be viewed on the association's website in the Publications section to stimulate the public to express their preferences through specific surveys in the "stories" of the SINCRESIS Instagram profile. During the exhibition, which will end on 12 June 2022, the participating artists and their work-books will be presented every week in a video conference in streaming via the association's Facebook profile. The organization is curated by two historians and contemporary art critics, Alessandra Scappini, president of the association, and Spela Zidar, who coordinated workshops and organized artist presentations in the context of projects promoted by the association. SINCRESIS also plans to present the artist's books at further events scheduled for 2022.
