Exhibition of some pictorial works by the artist Monica Argentino from 23rd to 27th October within the exhibition Art Market for RAW Rome Art Week 2018 curated by Sonia Vecchio and Dario Calì (https://www.facebook.com/events/1506289546139688 /) at Calidarium Gallery - Vicolo del Piede, 18 Rm.
Open studio during the Vernissage on October 23rd from 6.00pm to 9.00pm with:
"Flowerincage _ performance art _body painting live" by Monica Argentino
"A careful reflection made of shapes, colors and tangible bodies, on gender violence through art."
Flowerincage inspired by the personal pictorial exhibition of Monica Argentino "Chimera: the forms of evil".
Chimera deals with violence on women more specifically in the emotional sphere, their psychological dependence with the executioner, often until death.
In Flowerincage we want to represent the ability of women to transform pain into strength.
Thus the artist transforms the body of the model into a symbolic flower, violated in the silence of a society that is too often blind, a jailer of its malaise, but which resists and exists with its beauty.
A reflection on gender violence and the resistance and resilience of women.
