Waiting for the 9th edition of the International Short Film Festival Pontino that in 2013 decided to wait for the summer season and change location the organization did not want to miss the opportunity to design a series of initiatives to enjoy art in all its forms.

"Side Effects" from the Pontine Festival of Short Films - Video Art Prize 2013 Tonino D'Erme is an event by Fabio D'Achille and Massimo Palumbo born from the desire to remember the city of Latina Tonino D'Erme, artist, architect and man culture.

"The idea was born from the desire to remember in our city Tonino D'Erme, artist, architect, man of culture: we think it is a duty on the part of those who knew him, remember. Therefore want to put in the yard the creation of a national award for video art is able to propose and investigate new ways in the name of creativity and art. creativity that Tonino D'Erme held, made it the basis of life, tireless researcher of the new, and the possibilities that tended to search for beauty.

We intend to engage with national call young artists in particular are able to send us new materials and non-profits to tell what it means today to make video art, and investigate the relationship between video art and other forms of expression such as cinema, theater, performance , music, painting, sculpture, dance, television, languages of the word.

Never before has video art has taken on this task: get out of this constant background noise that surrounds us, what gives us a new understanding of our reality, our way of life. It is no longer the movie, the documentary, a photo of a detail. Video art can do about an object. The video art expresses the reality of life today, the story that arises grows, describes, develops.

The video art today confronts us with facts, images, things that require you to stop, think of those who are in front of us are not only fragments of life, are, as has always been the 'art, life itself, with its harshness, with its many difficulties ... sometimes its joys."
