Call for artists  ALTO FEST + A onE PROJECT for AFST 2012/13

Together with ALTO FEST, A onE project opens to performing arts, with an call for artists ending on the 31st of March 2013, a bridge towards the 3rd edition of ALTO FEST (AFST 2013).



A collective creative act can be determinant for a human/urban requalification: now more than ever, is the time for a thorough reflection on our responsibility concerning the need to create a new audience through new aesthetics and new practices.

Interested artists, are invited to create one or more environmental interventions, in a direct dialogue, which may be physical or conceptual, with the landscape settings provided by ALTOFEST. Works can only be virtual, that means that they should not be real, but only at a project stage, solely presented as a photomontage.

- Categories: performing and visual art, and short urban incursions.

- Works shall be of a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 frames.

- Site-specific works can be created originally for ALTO FEST, or they shall be retrained in close relation with the chosen locations: artists will have access to a web archive with photos, plans and limits of intervention for each location, together with interviews to their owners and donors, as well as all the information regarding the festival’s

venues which may be needed to create the work.

- Locations are privately owned, and they have been donated by citizen either on invite or spontaneously.

- Selected works will be included in the web platform

The works selected for “ALTO FEST + A onE project” will be included in a virtual exhibition within the programme of ALTO FEST 2013.



TO PARTICIPATE artists will have to send a brief PDF portfolio illustrating their accomplished research guidelines (aesthetic and ethical). This document has to be integrated by links to photo and video examples of previous works.
