The project is called ART TO BE STOLEN. The work is a series of stencil installations that are intended to function at two levels. First, after having installed the stencils, to observe people from a hidden place – thus enjoying the immediate reaction of the viewer as in a sort of voyeurism. Secondly, by leaving all the stencils in the streets and waiting for them to be stolen. Each stencil painting has an email address on the rear so that a message can be received from the “thieves”; usually I receive an enthusiastic message and I have subsequently met some of those who sent them.
