By the grace of God and wishing success for serving, thou little and limited, the culture and art of our glorious land of Iran, Farsh ta Arsh (Carpet to Empyrean) monthly magazine came into existence from March 5th, 2012/15 Esfand 1390 and on the eve of New Year Nowrooz and another spring.
The aim of the publication of this monthly magazine is to answer to the needs that the Persian carpets and hand-woven in order to be widely introduced to the world, felt as a cultural necessity, in an independent and comprehensive, effective and beneficial form.
Difficulties and obstacles facing production and trade, whose resolve or remove is out of the limitation of the powers and authorities of the people involved in the private sector, in addition to the international pressures that appear every once in different forms, such as Iranian carpets boycott by the government of the United States, which is double burden which ever-increasingly falls on the shoulders of this sector. Amid this, the hand-woven carpet has been able to some extent to reserve its ailing and frail body from the collapse and failure only by relying on the love and interest of few producers, designers, art directors, businessmen and exporters whose concerns for the culture and art in their invaluable bodies overcame numerous and varied ruggedness and troubles, and can still provide the bread for the simple and sincere table of this great family of hand-made carpets, especially the weavers.
Although the present conditions and domestic and foreign atmosphere, unfortunately does not formulate a compelling and clear picture of the future for the art and other fields such as handicrafts, these very restrictions lead the producers to the ideal quality products according to the world markets and clearly show the destructive role of inferior producing to destroy Iranian hand-woven carpet market more than before. At the same time, the unrest atmosphere of decision-making and decision-taking, as the most important strategic element, in the different sections of the state, cooperative and private sectors, has been so filled with the promises of the impossible and the improbable, also superficial slogans and abnormal misbehaviors that neither the current responsible, nor any organizations and other organs based on such attitude and approach, could never take a real step in the path of its welfare and abundance and blessing.
All seek ways, a way out of the cycle of depreciation and by chance this «all», with highly decentralized and scattered movements and decisions, make the problems more confused and more interwoven.
The tradition of individualism and self-based outlook has been a common and serious problem among individuals and small and large-scale enterprises. Problem of lack of toleration of ideas and thoughts of others; and more regrettably lack of tolerance and belief for the existence and presence of others!
Iranian carpets today needs more than any other time an atmosphere free from tension and tumult so that it rationally and reasonably determines and designs a subtle route for lubrication of the commercial and manufacturing movements in this sector and providing demands of beneficiaries. Undoubtedly, this needs commitment, patience and participation.
Farsh ta Arsh (Carpet to Empyrean) monthly magazine is determined to encourage individuals and the intelligent (and not just sympathetic) collections to design and reasonably confront with existing challenges with supporting a calm atmosphere based on knowledge, and by focusing on problems and existing and possible solutions to the problems, for its part, help the decision-makers to the benefit of our culture and art and the fate of beneficiary of this field. We are having our eyes, after God, on you dear readers and those interested in culture and art of this land to accompany us wholeheartedly.
