The room of the soul

"The room of the soul" is born from the idea to realize a work to four hands between Daniela Politelli and Angelo Volpe. This project wants to create a dialogue not only between the two artists but also with the audience (the same audience too often relegated to the role of simple obvserver). Every single spectator will have an active part in the process of realization of the work, in fact every one will be invited to leave his own track inside the room. So the work itself becomes a continuous evolution given by the incessant and democratic dialogue between every attender of the space.

The first reflexive cue is based on issues dear to the two artists: the commodification of bodies, dear to Angelo Volpe; the disruption of habitat, dear to Daniela Politelli. Each one of these themes( apparently different but actually close to each other)becomes a mean through wich the artists tell the man and his everyday experience in the society of globalization. So the different means have the same purpose and realize themeselves in the same work: the art installation named "the room of the soul".

The installation comprises a garden shed ( two metres by two) containing the first two interfaced signs: a tree realized by Daniela Politelli using nylon rope and iron; this tree is lighted by one point so that its shadow is reflected on the wall on which will be applied "home sweet home" a little house realized by Angelo Volpe using wood, syntethic fur and adhesive glittering paper, digital frame player eigjt inches and dvd video 5 min.
