INTERNATIONAL MAIL ART PROJECT
A project by Alessio Guano _ ATELIER97
Target
After the success of MAEP Mail Art Exchange Project (Exhibition organized at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art CAMeC of La Spezia; www.facebook.com/pages/MAEP-Mail-Art-Exchange-Project) and the large participation in the project MAB Mail Art Boxes (in collaboration with Galleria Il Gabbiano Contemporary Art; www.facebook.com/pages/MAB-Mail-Art-Boxes), the new artistic project LIGHT MATTERS / QUESTIONI DI LUCE, organized and designed by Alessio Guano ( Atelier97 ), the project is based to collect of a large number of works by international artists that illustrate a contemporary vision on the theme of LIGHT.
We therefore invite all artists to give free interpretation with imagination and creativity on the subject. The collected works will, as in previous occasions, to become part of the Mail-Art Collection of Atelier97 and will be exhibited in traveling exhibitions throughout the year 2015 and subsequent.
Theme
The LIGHT. Light is necessary for the existence of life. There are countless applications that have revolutionized society through medicine, communication, entertainment and culture. The artist is called upon to represent, with their own vision and unexpected, this broad theme.
How to partecipate
Participation in the project is free and open to artists from all over the world who have reached the age of majority. There will be no participation fee, nor a jury, neither the sale nor the return of the work. All works received will become part of the Mail-Art collection / archive Atelier97.
If the work is perishable, it is recommended to use a suitable envelope (work and protective measures for transport) compatible with the work, so that the work does not suffer any damage during shipment.
The work must comply with the following features:
For easier storage, cataloging and preparation of the exhibition is the artist recommends participant to carry out the work / works on a rigid support (paper, cardboard, plexiglass, canvas board, etc.)
The recommended format is 10x15cm or 13x18cm.
For the three-dimensional works, consider a volume of 10x15x10cm or 13x18x10cm.
The artist is free to express himself. We give the artist the opportunity to choose a format other than those defined above. The maximum allowable size is 22x30cm.
Are allowed all the techniques and all materials.
The artist can express freely through photography, artist's books, stamps, envelopes, and light boxes.
Each participating artist may submit more than one work, at its discretion.
However, it will be on display works only suitable for the exhibition space, from time to time defined and communicated.
A back of the work must be marked with the following information:
Name / surname and nickname artist
year work
Country artist
Title work
description
For photography: shutter / photographed location
Every works will be exhibited and will participate in exhibitions in Italy and foreign programming (dates and locations to be defined) at no cost to the artist. All updates will be communicated through official Fb page. At the end of the collection will be built a digital catalog, donated to the participating artists.
Terms
The works must be sent no later than May 15, 2015.
By participating in the project Artists retain ownership of the works submitted, but give unlimited rights to use, free of images and their further elaborations Organization. All submitted images can be freely used without time limit to cultural activities promoted by the Organization;
Assure the authenticity and ownership (copyright) of the data presented, the total liability in the event of violation of rights of third parties pursuant to Legislative Decree no. 196/03;
They are committed to deliver the work at its own expense for only the first stage in which the artist will participate in the terms and in the manner specified in the notice; for subsequent stages, will be promoted by the Organization, Atelier97, shipping at other locations;
They claim to hold harmless the organizers and the managers of places of exposure, for theft, vandalism, damage of any kind that may occur before, during and after the events that will take place;
