Biography

Erik Kessels is a Dutch artist, designer and curator with a great interest in photography. Since 1996 Erik is Creative Director of communications agency KesselsKramer in Amsterdam and works for national and international clients. As an artist and a colelctor of photography Erik has published several books of his 'collected' images, such as ‘In almost every picture’ and ‘Useful Photography’. Kessels made and curated exhibitions such as 24HRS of Photos, Album Beauty and Unfinished Father. He co-curated an exhibition called 'From Here on together' with Martin Parr, Joachim Schmid, Clement Cheroux and Joan Fontuberta. In 2010 Kessels was awarded the Amsterdam Prize of the Arts and and is often considered as the most influential creative of The Netherlands. In 2016 Erik is jury member of Skin, 5th edition Visible White Photo Prize.
