Biography
I work with brush and knife and a limitless palette rendered from Ivory Black and Titanium White. Many of my recent paintings are purely achromatic Ivory Black. I focus on balancing light and dark, creating luminosity, depth and movement.
My dreamscapes compel the viewer to stop and look deep in the work. The viewer is encouraged to “read” the work and become an active participant in the art process by creating their own story, formed from the symbolic language of their sub-conscious mind.
I am right handed by birth but create some works ambidextrously, in order to support a connection and interaction between the right and left hemispheres of my brain, and perhaps, enhance my ability to create.
Art is my meditation, the ultimate act of my vulnerability, and my greatest passion.
