Biography

Heather Marie Anderson is an Assistant Curator in the Contemporary Art Department at the National Gallery of Canada. She completed a BFA at the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design in Vancouver in 1998 and participated in the Curatorial Apprenticeship Program at Mount Saint Vincent University Art Gallery in Halifax, Nova Scotia, working as Curatorial Assistant from 2000-2001. She received an MA in Women’s Studies from Dalhousie University in conjunction with the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design for her thesis on feminist performance art in Canada in 2003. From 2004-2005 she participated in the Ecole du Magasin International Curatorial Training Program in Grenoble, France. Based in Ottawa, Canada, she continues to pursue her interest in contemporary art curating and critical writing. She has been an IKT member since 2008.
