Procedures of Order
In my interdisciplinary art practice, in the mediums of Drawing, video and sculpture I am dealing with the idea of Procedures of Order and the way they are used in handling chaos and trauma.
In the basis of my art practice lays the tension between two states of mind: an optimistic one which is guided by the ambition and potential of understanding reality and by the hope to discover and to articulate a clear logic within it. My other state of mind is guided by a sense of arbitrariness regarding connection between reality and our conceptual image of it (if reality exist at all).
Procedures of Order are represented in my work by various images of mechanisms which are meant ot help us organize information and establish a certain order in the world. Such “order mechanisms” in my works are Science (laboratories, research procedures), language (verbal communication, body-language) bureaucracy (office spaces, papers).
