Amber-Jayne creates powerful representational images in her own unique style. She is well known for creating large sensual oil paintings of flowers & fruit, which entice the viewer through exotic images depicting luscious ripe flesh. Amber-Jayne’s work uses the effects of chiaroscuro to create both drama and realism.
Amber-Jayne's most recent work draws inspiration from iconic female portraits by Italian masters of the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries. And she recently completed formal studies in classical drawing and painting in Florence. Her desire is to create art works in the classical style of the Italian Masters however posed a challenge to her as a contemporary artist. In her current work she has succeeded in creating juxtaposition between classical techniques in female portraiture and contemporary schemata. Within her large scale works she incorporates the techniques of chiaroscuro to contrast light and shade and the softness of sfumato brushwork to create a dreamy quality. The works are both dramatic yet serene.Through her unique compositions, Amber-Jayne has created powerful, emotive images which are an exploration of the divine and timeless beauty of the female form.
