Is our body our own private territory? Or, whether we like it or not, are we merely an atom of a wider collective body in which our individual identity is sometimes lost? The body is the physical connection between our self and the reality which surrounds us, a bridge all the more concrete for being composed of muscles, fat, water, flesh and bone. Using various techniques but always focusing on the human stomach, Elena Cardellini draws attention to the substance of the human body: for the artist, the human stomach is a material reality which allows us to rediscover and reclaim this physicality which we have lost consciousness of.

Elena cardellini has already received recognition and prizes for her work, showing at local, national and international events. Since 2003 she has collaborated with associations, artists and galleries both for art events and exhibitions. She now lives and works in London
