Biografia

Born in 1968 in Milan where I lived till 2000. Then I moved to Genova and recently based in New York.

Mostly self-educated artist, my passion for art and starts when I m a young boy and I start to go to see galleries and museums where I begin to look everything form painting to photography. Then I attend some drawing classes before hitting the real creative process and experimenting all means to search for my style.

I' ve been always influenced by masters of painting from 1200 (Giotto, Raffaello, Antonello da Messina, Bosch, the Flemish painters) to Pop Art and Graphic Design passing by the Surrealist, Hopper and Bacon.

My early works are figurative paintings which I quit soon for a materical and physical art. At that time I use to exhibit my works in the undergroung punk scene of Milan and spread them through giving away to friends of mine.

I discover in 2000 computer can be used as brush and I begin to work on my first photographic projects and digital collages trying to keep that hand made touch. And still today that digital brush is always present.

2004 I collaborate with the photographer Ico Gasparri for his exhibit "Chi è il maestro del lupo cattivo"?

In 2005 my collaboration with Barbara Rosenberg and Emanuele Scataglini'. I create Illustrations, scenic decors , videos, cd sleeves and merchandising of "Viandanti" group. This collaboration still goes on nowadays.

I work with Sandra Montagna in 2009. Our project called "sANDmAX" is born to put together digital art and fabric creations

In the meantime since 2010 I begin to be interested in perfomances that become part of my latest installations. I have a project called "Kein Kollettiv" which in progress related to this.

While I m busy on a project of mine I usually don't think if the digital works I' m creating will be printed images or used for a video or maybe they'll become both of things. I figure it out during the process or when the work is done.

Art is our life ride through the looking glass.
