Artists Statement:
My creations are composed from the beauty I see around me here in the island of Ireland. I paint or dye my picture on linen and then use applique, silk and cotton thread to embroider. When I have painted the fabric I use my needle as a brush and thread as paint.
Sometimes I could use three or four threads of different tones working concurrently.
In a figurative sense it is through sculpting and adapting fabrics that I am able to form shapes.
Irish representative to the EQA Travelling Exhibitions.
