Biografia

I was born in Seoul, Korea, and grew up in the United States of America. I earned my MFA and BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. I am a computer artist who is interested in altering the perception and processes around images. My work focuses on reframing the relationship between representation and reality. With the advent of hyper-realistic imagery, the potential for new forms utilizing the process of computer-aided design presents a paradigm shift in representation and photographic imagery. Often times my work builds off of the photographic narrative to present new perspectives not available with conventional techniques of lens-based image making. I see much of my work addressing the emancipating possibilities of the crisis of photography’s loss of the index.
