Biografia
I’ ve always found my inspiration far from the world of the contemporary art, I’ve found it in the altarpiece, in the wonderful composition of the ancient artists, in the masterpieces of Piero della Francesca, Carlo Crivelli, Andrea Mantegna, Paolo Uccello. At the beginning of every work, I need a structure. The first stage consists in drawing some empty boxes, ordered in a well-defined composition ( a “polittico” one). After having my structure clear in my mind, I start to consider which kind of images I can put into these boxes. What is my reality? The streets, the huge cities, the loneliness, the absurdity, the darkness, the death, myself. The thing I find more interesting is to erase all the surrounding area from these subjects and leave them without a street, without a sky, without their own reality. Such as in the Renaissance paintings, in my images, as a matter of fact, there are windows, but it’s not possible, metaphorically, to see anything defined or reassuring from these windows. I can just draw these “holes”, as a part of this “bated breath world”. I want to fill completely the rooms with these huge sheets. I’d love to consider the space such as the first step and to project all these weird and unrealistic images such as a part of the space, such as a narrative and arrogant visual tale.
