Biografia
Mher Khachatryan was born in Armenia in 1983. He first became interested in art when he was 5 years old. Upon discovering his uncle's paintings, Mher taught himself to draw and shortly after that he began to paint. Mher was a self-taught artist at that time. However, after middle school in 1994, he attended the Art school of Hakob Kojoyan. It is an atelier art school meaning that the artists study all aspects of art including anatomy, sculpture, watercolor, figure painting, drawing and still life.
From 1998 to 2000 Mher had been studying at the Art college of Panos Terlemezyan and then in 2000 he went to the Academy Of Fine Arts, where the goal had been and continues to be, “to assure that future generations of artists receive the wisdom of the past while acquiring the creative freedom that only the mastery of traditional skills can provide”.
In 2003 Mher Khachatryan moved to the USA – to bigger world of opportunities, where he still leaves and creates.
Early in his career, Mher painted on his own. Often, people saw the paintings and bought them. He also began to show his art in area galleries including Hanna Gallery in NJ, Narekatsy gallery in Armenia, Vulcan’s Forge MO, Webster Hall in NYC …
Mher Khachatryan’s work has been published in magazines and newspapers like Art takes Time Square, Miami talent Magazine, Art Creation, KC Artist, Art things in Northeast, The Pitch…
Mher also likes to do demonstrations and workshops. He does these out on location or in a studio.
“I’ve never wanted to imitate anyone, no one to copy. I just want to gain the thoughtful and independent feeling of my own individuality in complete traditional knowledge. To know for to be able to – the way I am thinking. Being able to express morals, ideas, appearance of the epoch in accordance with my own assessment, to be not only an artist, but a man, in other words, to create a living art - this is my task. Art is my life! It gives a tremendous opportunity to get to know ourselves and the world. Every time art helps to see new things familiar and familiar things new. It opens up a brand new world, new ways of being, and as a result art draws us closer to God. Here the words of Gustave Moreau are being involuntarily recalled: "God - Immeasurable, and I feel Him inside. Just Him I believe. I do not believe in what I feel, or what I see. My brain, my mind seems to me as only a brief of uncertain reality. Only my inner sense, I consider the eternal and certain. "
