Biografia
Jason File (b. 1976, Marquette, MI, USA) is an artist, university lecturer in fine art, and a war crimes prosecutor. His multimedia art practice, which encompasses performance, video, installation, sculpture and 2D work, operates on the boundary between art and real life, and investigates the function of institutions and networks in society, including government, media, corporate and legal structures, as well as art-world institutions. He holds degrees in fine art from the Chelsea College of Arts, London, and the Royal Academy of Art in The Netherlands, where he currently teaches. He also holds degrees in the humanities, social sciences, and law from Yale, Oxford and Yale Law School. File exhibits widely across Europe and is featured this summer in the International Print Biennale, Newcastle UK. His work has been recognized through commissions, collections, and prizes, most recently the Zabludowicz Collection Future Map Prize 2014. He lives and works between London and The Hague.
