Biography
Born as an off event of Artissima, international fair of contemporary art, Paratissima has become in a few years one of the landmark events in the artistic panorama at the national level.
The artists of Paratissima are the creative artists (painters, sculptors, photographers, illustrators, stylists, directors, designers) who have not entered the official art circuit yet, and the established names who want to get involved in a dynamic context aimed at a vast audience.
The main sections of Paratissima are dedicated to design, fashion, photography, young contemporary art galleries and street artists.
Didactic areas, workshops and workshops play a fundamental role in the event with a view to triggering an active participation, a connection between the public and young artists during the five days of the event.
The artistic offering is expanded by events designed by Paratissima and collaborations with other companies or associations, special projects deemed to be of such quality and importance, and exhibitions that host internationally renowned artists.
Fourteen years after its birth, Paratissima is ready to look ahead, expanding its borders - in a natural international development of the event that since 2014 has a twin event in Skopje and since 2016 is present in Lisbon and Cagliari - and expanding its range of action enriching itself with appointments, opportunities and initiatives with the will to go beyond the 5 days of the November event.
The Paratissima 360 project, sponsored by the Turin Chamber of Commerce and created to promote emerging art through a circuit of temporary exhibitions spread throughout the urban area throughout the year, involving the shops, laboratories, is born from this perspective. artisans and professional studios as exhibition locations.
Today, more than ever, Paratissima becomes a system and becomes a network of emerging creativity with the appointments of Bologna, Milan, Naples and Cagliari.
