Biography
"I am questioning the issues of beliefs and portraying them through my art"--- Mike Garcia
My art is based on keen observations on Philippine culture, traditions, rituals and superstitions.
Recently, I’ve been working on a new series of figure drawings and paintings that depict visions beyond natural forms.
My latest pieces are rendered in multiple layers of complex figure drawings. Lines, textures and composition are derived from iron wood or (dulô), the provincial tree of Palawan.
My techniques and mediums are varied from the classical baroque, High-Renaissance, to the modern and contemporary approach.
