Biography
In my current work, I am researching the spatial possibilities of drawing - the relationship between two-dimensional space (drawing) and three-dimensional space (sculpture /object).
My interest is especially in the line, not only as a structuring element of space through which we make the perception of the images, but also as an essential element in the definition of nets, through their repetition.
For me nets are very interesting, because they do not only suggest the idea of connections that we have in our nature ( body and mind) but also shows the connections that we have in the world where we live and that we know ( society and natural world).
Now I am particularly interested in the coiled line, which creates chaotic organic looking webs.
The idea is show how the different types ofconnections are related with each other e not only expose their complexities and fragilities, but mainly to show their similarities.
In the construction of my sculptures, I use materials that can reproduce this "lines" - graphite, hot glue, kitchen scrub wires, wire among others.
Along with these ideas, I use other concepts to objectify my objects, such as; unit, multiplication, deconstruction, transparency, complementarity, opposition and transformation.
