Biography

Davide Dall’ Osso was born in Pesaro. He lives and works in Casole D’Elsa (Siena).
He graduated as a theatre actor at the Civic School of Dramatic Art “Paolo Grassi” in Milan. The passion for theatre, dance and the visual arts lead him immediately choose the contamination of languages and undertake a study of the body, space and matter.
The theater and in particular the work done on large installations of traveling shows of Enrique Vargas inspired him to use sculpture as a means of creative expression. From the outset the ability to create through sculpture a key for spirituality of contemporary man interested him. This aspect characterize his entire artistic career.
The material research moves parallel to the creation. The artist has an “instinctive figurative ability“, which leads him to make with the clay and later with the resin, human and animal figures in full size. The figure of the horse hit his expressiveness in a special way. In the strong physica¬lity of the horse the artist acknowledges the “spiritual impulses” of the man of his time.
The first horses were made of clay and resin and during this process the artist made a first step towards the search for new materials. The structures that support the clay are a real ske¬leton made with rods, iron wire and wire mesh. By this time, towards the end of the nineties, he began construct big horses in wire, completely hand-woven.
