Biography
Bettina John is a performance and installation artists. Her work encompasses media such as video, photography, music, text, costume and painting. In fashion-induced, image-driven, ritualistic and sometimes participatory performances she shares her thoughts online and offline. The various recurring characters in her work address in various ways the image driven, narcissist and hedonist world we live in and offer ways of dealing with it and occassionally alternative perspectives. Her work re-negotiates the role of a shaman artist, their potential and responsibility.
