Biography

Matias Abel Pera

The exhibition space used by Matias Abel Pera wants to represent time through different techniques, where the moment of photography, the gesture and instinct of painting, and the introspection of the purest sign of watercolor or nature itself, intersect incessantly.
The narrative element moves in flexible ways, since the mutual dependence on the works, wants to bring the spectator into contact sometimes with instinctive action, and sometimes with direct observation and deeper analysis of his interiority.
What is in space is not clearly defined; What is present invokes what is absent.
The images are transposed into photographs, paintings, and watercolors or compositions of perennial herbs, grouped together as assemblies in relation to the architectural space in which they are located.
His research is based on the world of bonsai, which teaches the union of nature with the art and the harmony of forms, experimenting and seeking this union in its creations. His research aims to extrapolate the essentials to give value to the "vacuum" that completes the work, and to point the observer to the details of nature, as if it were an introspective journey.
