Biography
Fabio Tasso has always been interested in the topological links between space and body, emptiness and fullness, surface and matter. With a machinery, made using recycled and low cost components, he wraps objects with an artificial membrane. The results are perfect bodies that follow the natural laws of aggregation, of gravity and compression. His sculptures have almost nothing that comes from him but the idea. The only action he makes is to convert the state of matter, turning something ephemeral like an object wrap in a permanent condition thanks to the casting process. His works have usually no titles but codes, which contain all the information about dimension, year and material. His sculpture research does not look for the significance but to a poetic and archetypical condition where the signifier becomes symbol. His works, for that reason, don't have titles, bu codes which contain informations about material, dimensions and year.
