Biography

Pascal Carenza was born in Bari, Southern Italy and has lived and worked in London for thirty years. Now living in Beirut since 2004.
Mainly self-taught, he attended the Saint-Martin school of Art in London.
The English art critic Petr Fuller wrote about him:
"Carenza's prime preoccupation is with colour... and he remains both valid and intriguing simply because of the power, the range and the enviable variety of that experience, depicted with such versatility of style and atmosphere".
Robin Dutt, another critic, wrote about him of his exibition on Lebanon at the Kufa Gallery in London 1993:
"These are disturbing works, but they did not get out to shock, instead horror and trauma are seen in the quiet stillness of contemplation".

Tragedy is like music: whatever lanuage you speak, its voice somehow communicates.
